Publishing Scenarios Overview

Publishing in Whathead does not always mean the same thing. Sometimes you are creating a full campaign from scratch. Sometimes you are updating items that already exist. Sometimes you are mixing both in the same canvas. This section helps you understand which publishing path applies before you click publish.

Why scenarios matter

Different scenarios affect:
  • What gets created as brand-new entities
  • What gets updated in place
  • Which validations apply
  • What to double-check before launch

Main scenarios

All new entities

You are creating a new campaign structure from scratch.

Existing plus new

You are extending an existing structure with new items.

Fully existing

You are editing entities that already exist on the platform.

Platform-specific cases

Rules differ depending on Meta, Google, TikTok, or Snapchat.

Start here if you are unsure

If your canvas contains mostly new items, start with All New Entities. If you fetched an existing campaign and added new ads or ad sets to it, start with Existing Plus New. If the campaign already lives on-platform and you are mostly editing fields, review Fully Existing.
