Where the media library appears
- When you’re editing an ad (double-click an ad node), you’ll see options to add or change the creative (image or video).
- Click the control that opens the media library (e.g. “Choose from library” or “Upload”). The media library modal opens.
What you can do in the media library
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Browse | See images and videos already on your connected Meta account. Filter by type (image/video) and search. Select one or more to attach to the ad. |
| Upload | Upload new images or videos. They’re sent to your Meta account and then attached to the ad. Supported formats and sizes follow Meta’s specs (e.g. aspect ratio, file size). |
Uploading new creatives
- In the media library modal, switch to the Upload tab (or use the upload entry point from the ad form).
- Select file(s) or drag and drop. Ensure they match Meta’s requirements (e.g. recommended aspect ratios, max file size).
- Once uploaded, the new assets appear in your library and can be selected for the ad.
If you need more assets
- Upload more — Use the upload flow in the media library to add new images or videos to your Meta account.
- Use existing — If you’ve uploaded creatives in Meta Ads Manager or elsewhere, use Refresh or reopen the media library so Whathead can fetch the latest list from your account.
- Reconnect — If the library is empty or missing assets, check that your Meta connection is active in Integrations and that you’ve selected the right ad account. Reconnect if needed.
Format and specs
Meta supports single image, single video, and carousel. Aspect ratios and dimensions depend on placement (Feed, Stories, Reels, etc.). The ad form and media library guide you to supported formats; for exact limits (file size, duration), refer to Meta’s current specs in Ads Manager or their help center.Ad
