Prerequisites
Before connecting TikTok to Whathead, make sure you have:- A TikTok Ads Manager account
- Admin access to the ad accounts you want to manage
- The necessary permissions to authorize third-party applications
Connection Steps
Click Connect
Click the Connect button on the TikTok card. This will open a TikTok authentication window.
Log in to TikTok
If you’re not already logged in, enter your TikTok Ads Manager credentials. Use the account that has access to your ad accounts.
Select Business Center
Choose the Business Center account you want to connect. If you manage multiple Business Centers, select the one containing the ad accounts you’ll use.
Grant Permissions
Review the permissions Whathead is requesting:
- Read and manage ad accounts
- Access media library
- Create and edit campaigns, ad groups, and ads
- View campaign performance data
Required Permissions
Whathead requires the following TikTok permissions to function properly:| Permission | Why it’s needed |

Selecting Ad Accounts
After connecting your Business Center, you’ll need to select which ad accounts to use:Select Ad Accounts
You’ll see a list of all ad accounts in your Business Center. Check the boxes next to the accounts you want to use in Whathead.
Set Default Account
Choose one account as your default. This will be pre-selected when you create new campaigns.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
Connection fails with 'Permission denied' error

Cause: You don’t have admin access to the Business Center or ad accounts.Resolution:
- Verify you have admin or advertiser access in TikTok Ads Manager
- Ask your Business Center admin to grant you the necessary permissions
- Try connecting again after permissions are updated

Cause: The ad accounts may not be in the Business Center you connected, or you don’t have access to them.Resolution:
- Log in to TikTok Ads Manager and verify which accounts you have access to
- Make sure you connected the correct Business Center
- If needed, disconnect and reconnect with a different Business Center
Connection expires or shows as disconnected

Cause: TikTok access tokens expire after a period of inactivity, or permissions were revoked.Resolution:
- Navigate to Integrations
- Click Reconnect on the TikTok card
- Follow the authentication flow again to refresh your connection
Error: 'Account not eligible for API access'

Cause: Your TikTok ad account may not have API access enabled, or your account is restricted.Resolution:
- Contact TikTok support to verify your account has API access
- Check if your account has any restrictions or compliance issues
- Ensure your account is in good standing with TikTok’s advertising policies
Managing Multiple Business Centers
If you manage campaigns for multiple clients or businesses, you can connect multiple Business Center accounts:- Complete the connection process for your first Business Center
- Navigate back to Integrations
- Click Add Another Account on the TikTok card
- Follow the same connection steps for the additional Business Center
