To create and publish Snapchat campaigns in Whathead, you need to connect your Snapchat Ads Manager account. This gives Whathead permission to access your ad accounts and manage campaigns on your behalf.

Prerequisites

Before connecting Snapchat to Whathead, make sure you have:
  • A Snapchat Ads Manager account
  • Admin access to the ad accounts you want to manage
  • The necessary permissions to authorize third-party applications

Connection Steps

1

Navigate to Integrations

Navigate to Integrations in Whathead and locate the Snapchat platform card.
2

Click Connect

Click the Connect button on the Snapchat card. This will open a Snapchat authentication window.
3

Log in to Snapchat

If you’re not already logged in, enter your Snapchat credentials. Use the account that has access to your Ads Manager.
4

Select Organization

Choose the organization account you want to connect. If you manage multiple organizations, select the one containing the ad accounts you’ll use.
5

Grant Permissions

Review the permissions Whathead is requesting:
  • Read and manage ad accounts
  • Access media library
  • Create and edit campaigns, ad squads, and ads
  • View campaign performance data
Click Allow to grant these permissions.

You’ll be redirected back to Whathead. You should see a success message confirming your Snapchat account is connected.

View Connected Accounts

Navigate to Integrations and click Manage on your connected Snapchat account.

You’ll see a list of all ad accounts in your organization. Check the boxes next to the accounts you want to use in Whathead.
3

Choose one account as your default. This will be pre-selected when you create new campaigns.
4

Save Changes

Click Save to confirm your ad account selection.

Managing Multiple Organizations

If you manage campaigns for multiple clients or businesses, you can connect multiple organization accounts:
  1. Complete the connection process for your first organization
  2. Navigate back to Integrations
  3. Click Add Another Account on the Snapchat card
  4. Follow the same connection steps for the additional organization
You can switch between connected accounts when creating campaigns by selecting the appropriate ad account from the dropdown.
Keep your connections active by using Whathead regularly. Snapchat may revoke access tokens if they’re not used for extended periods.

Snapchat-Specific Considerations

Ad Updates

Snapchat supports updating existing ads, including creative changes. When you modify an ad’s creative, copy, or other properties, Whathead updates the existing ad via Snapchat’s API. The same ad ID is preserved, and changes are reflected immediately in Snapchat Ads Manager. Learn more in Snapchat Publishing.

Media Library Access

Snapchat’s media library works differently from other platforms:
  • Assets are organized by ad account
  • Video assets must meet Snapchat’s vertical format requirements (9:16 recommended)
  • Snapchat supports Media Copy API for eligible assets, which can speed up creative migration
